Site structure

Open Med School (OMS) utilizes a wiki-based software and has the following website structure:

  • Web address: https://openmed.school/
  • For all pages: https://openmed.school/page-name
    • Each page-name is an unique individual page
    • Since there is no folder above, this is known as the root or labeled as [root] in Media Manager.
  • A few pages are under another folder (namespace) and has the following page address: https://openmed.school/folder:page-name
    • Again, [root] is the default location without a folder name present in the address. This location is used for all pages not otherwise specified below.
    • The named folders are:
      • oms: all pages about OMS and guides for authors and editors that are not related to any basic science, medical, and non-medical disciplines.
      • info: information about author(s), editor(s), and editing history (if the page was renamed or moved) of a particular page in the root folder.
      • talk: a blank page that can be used to discuss a page in the root folder.
      • media: used to list all relevant media files and provide additional information as needed (all media files are uploaded to the [root] folder).
      • user: for individual member profiles.
      • playground: for members to test out syntax and page structures. It is not otherwise used.
      • tag: for category search function only. It is not otherwise used.
      • wiki: for very basic functions only. It is not otherwise used.
